Single Equality Scheme 2009-2012

EastendHomes’ Single Equality Scheme draws together the requirements of the preceding Race, Disability and Gender Equality Schemes and further incorporates considerations arising from the other equality strands.

The adoption of a Single Equality Scheme allows EastendHomes to consider discrimination and fairness in its broadest sense against all of the ‘equality strands’, and by doing so, ensure that policies, processes and procedures are inclusive.

The scheme is supported by an Action Plan which draws upon existing commitments laid out in the preceding Race, Gender and Disability Equality Schemes, whilst expanding the action plan to consider actions to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation with regards to religious belief, age, and sexual orientation.

The Single Equality Scheme complements our Equality and Diversity Policy and the Equality and Diversity Strategic Framework.
