EastendHomes works in partnership with Tower Hamlets Council and our common housing register partner landlords to make sure our housing stock is used effectively to meet the housing needs of residents in Tower Hamlets.

All our housing stock is in Tower Hamlets and we work closely with the council to assist their statutory duties to secure accommodation for single people and families in housing need.

Changes to Lettings policy

The revised policy provides improved consideration to:

  • Applicants who have waited the longest within their band

  • Applicants who need ground floor accommodation on medical/disability grounds or need wheelchair accessible property

  • Overcrowded and homeless households will be in the same band and given priority in date order of when they registered or when they applied as homeless

The Policy aims to:

  • Show clearly how decisions are made to offer housing to applicants

  • Show clearly why an applicant is not made an offer

  • Show the position clearly to applicants who have little or no chance of being offered housing – so they can consider other options
