Berkeley House Fire

At around 6.30pm on Wednesday 4 September a fire broke out at Berkeley House on British Street estate in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

John Henderson, Managing Director of EastendHomes, said:

I'm pleased to report the fire at Berkeley House was quickly contained by 6.45pm. All residents are safe and the London Fire Brigade gave full approval for everyone to return to their home that evening (4 September). The Fire Brigade were very happy with the way the building responded to the fire along with the fire safety measures in place. They are currently investigating the cause of the fire. As a result of the fire there has been some water damage to the landings of Berkeley House. EastendHomes staff are currently on site working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible. We'd like to thank the residents who responded quickly and contacted the London Fire Brigade. Their swift action helped to save lives.
