Do you know a Star in the Community?
Community volunteers are often unsung heroes making a real difference to their community. They could be someone who spends time, without pay, doing something that benefits the community or may be an active member of a community group who organises events for fellow residents or supports and helps other individuals in the area. If you know someone like this, why not show them how much you appreciate what they are doing by nominating them for a Star in the Community Award?
The Star in the Community Awards are now open for nominations - if you know an unsung hero, who has made a difference in our communities, please put them forward and show how much they are appreciated. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in November.
There are several categories of awards. These are:
- Inspirational Resident Award (one winner per housing provider)
- Young People’s Award (one overall winner)
- Contribution to Resident Involvement Award (one overall winner)
- Bringing People Together Award (one overall winner)
- Environmental Award (one overall winner)
Rules of Entry
The deadline for entries is Friday 28th September 2018.
All nominations must be submitted on the official nomination form [pdf] 941KB or via this online form.
All nominees must live in a property in Tower Hamlets managed by: Clarion, EastendHomes, Gateway HA, One Housing Group, Poplar HARCA, Providence Row Housing Association, Spitalfields HA, Swan HA, Tower Hamlets Community Housing, or Tower Hamlets Homes.
Residents and resident groups can nominate and be nominated.
There is no limit to the number of nominations that an individual or group can receive or make.
An individual or group may nominate or be nominated for more than one category if appropriate.
There is no age limit (except the ‘Young People’s Award' where the entrants must be under 25 years of age).
