School's out for summer

School holidays are here and loads of activities are on offer to keep kids, families and teens busy throughout – and better yet most of the events are absolutely free! There's something for everyone!

This summer, families and young people can take part in over 200 free online and outdoor activities organised by the council and voluntary organisations, including sports, music, reading, virtual baking and much more. Many of the council summer programmes include free nutritional meals to help children through a day of active fun. Visit www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/summerevents for more information.

Schools and voluntary sector organisations across the borough will be offering holiday clubs with exciting and enriching activities to help children have fun and learn through the holidays. Activities will vary from club to club and will include arts and crafts, games, outings, outdoor physical activities and cooking. A range of great food options such as healthy lunch bags and hot meals will be available, so you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy delicious healthy food and try new things! So sign up to your local club and find out more.

The Council has also published a fun, family friendly guide to keeping healthy during the summer. The booklet has lots of fun activities to do as a family with easy recipes, craft and ways to keep fit at home.

Safety is the priority and all events are virtual or socially distanced.
