Local Community Ambassador Reaches Regional Final of National Award

Tania Nalywajko; Adam Koenner; Terry Lyle Mile End resident Tania Nalywajko has been shortlisted in the 2018 TPAS awards for her outstanding contribution to her local community in Mile End.

TPAS are England’s leading Tenant Engagement experts. The TPAS Awards, now in their 11th year, seek to recognise the work of unsung heroes in our communities. Tania who has lived in Mile End since 1984, is a finalist in the South region Tenant of the Year category.    

When entering Tania into the TPAS awards, local housing association EastendHomes were inundated with messages of support from local residents and local partners such as Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, Mile End Community Project and Shuffle Film Festival.

Tania has been instrumental in supporting a range of community activities and services for her neighbourhood.  As well as chairing her local resident association, Tania has worked closely with EastendHomes on the look and feel of Southern Grove Community Centre, the development of a number of award-winning green spaces across her estate, and also finds the time to organise community events and support local annual festivals like Shuffle Film Festival.

Winners are announced at the award ceremony  on the 9 February.
