Glamis estate transfers to EastendHomes

by Audrey Batchelor last modified 2008-01-16 14:34

A fresh approach with EastendHomes begins

On Monday 8 October 2007 after much delay the transfer of the Glamis estate from Tower Hamlets Council to EastendHomes was successfully completed.

Tenants voted in September 2005 to transfer to EastendHomes and since then work has been ongoing in preparation for the transfer and the start of new locally based housing services.

Our consultation office at Roslin House in Cable Street, has been redesigned and opened as the brand new Glamis estate office on 9 October, the day after transfer.

Margaret Clark, Chair of the Glamis Estate Steering Group said that she was "delighted that the transfer had finally taken place after many months of delay".  Margaret who is also a member of the EastendHomes Board, said she was "now looking forward to working towards achieving improvements to local housing services and to the start of the estate improvements programme".  Margaret also said "that all members of the Steering Group are also looking ahead".
