New Bikes for Safer Neighbourhood Team

by Audrey Batchelor last modified 2008-06-09 10:35

St Katharine’s & Wapping Safer Neighbourhoods team receive  money for new bikes.

On Wednesday 28th May 2008 PS Steve Robb and the St Katharine’s & Wapping Safer Neighbourhoods team were presented with a large cheque for £3580.58 from EastendHomes. This money will provide the team with 6 mountain bikes and necessary equipment.

Sergeant Steve Robb said,” We are extremely grateful for the sponsorship and support that we receive from EastendHomes. With these bicycles we can now patrol the ward so much easier and quicker. This also gives us another method of high visibility patrol, giving us an element of surprise that enables us to see people before they see us.  This gives us every opportunity to catch criminals in the act and disrupt their criminal activity."

Mary Nepstad, resident chair of St Georges local board, said ‘we are proud of our  close partnership working with the police and look forward to this and other initiatives helping people to feel safer on our estates’. .
